The problem was, even after nine books and two children, that’s pretty much all I was doing! You said to me, ‘Be careful what you ask for,’ and, boy, were you right.

If I did not continue to feel Richard’s love and to connect with him, deep in my spirit, I would not survive this loss. Of that I am 100 percent certain. Grieving is the ultimate act of love, or, at least, it can be. Love holds all possibilities, and that includes bliss in the face of immeasurable suffering and gain through loss.
